How will you dedicate yourself to be in community with Church on the Square?  The perception is that we go to church for ourselves.  Like attending a concert, choosing a particular restaurant or picking the most convenient route home, we think that church is about self.  But, church needs people to be present and ready when others come in for community, safety, conversation and hope.  Church is nothing but people.

This is not to say that we cannot look for a church the represents our mission or our understanding of faith.  Nor is it to think that church attendance is about placating those in charge.

It is as simple as this.  If you aren’t there, you aren’t there.  The place is all the less diverse, effective, transformational and wise without your unique person.  In your busy life, is there a value in being regular and reliable in a space, adding your personhood to that community’s life?
